[b][size=6]李苦禅先生年谱[/size][/b]1899年 己亥 1 岁 1 月11日(农历 戊戌十
一月三十日)，生于山东
省高唐县李奇庄，取名
英杰。
1918年 戊午 21岁 在北京大学附设的“业余
画法研究会”（后名“造
型美术会”）从徐悲鸿学
炭画（素描）。
1922年 壬戌 24岁 入北京国立艺专西画系学
习。是年，接受同学赠名
“苦禅”。
1923年 癸亥 25岁 拜师于齐白石先生门下。
夜间租拉“洋车”以维持
生活与学习。
1925年 乙丑 27岁 北平艺专毕业。即应聘担
任北京师范学校与保定第
二师范学校美术教师。
1930年 庚午 32岁 任杭州艺专国画教授。
1934年 甲戌 36岁 回北平执教。
1937年 丁丑 39岁 北平沦陷，毅然辞去一切
“公职”。并积极参加中
共领导的地下抗战工作。
1938年 己卯 40岁 被日本宪兵逮捕入狱，始
终不屈。出狱后拒不接受
任何伪职。
1946年 丙戌 48岁 任北平国立艺专教授。
1949年 己丑 51岁 与文化界人士合力斡旋，
呼吁和平解决北平战事。
1950年 庚寅 52岁 因受到不公平待遇，工作
没有着落，遂上书毛主席。
毛主席亲自致信徐悲鸿，
嘱其设法解决，并派秘书
田家英上门代为看望。
1951年 辛卯 53岁 在中央美术学院中国画系
任教。
1961年 辛丑 63岁 赴青岛、济南、烟台、蚌
埠、合肥等地举办画展和
学术讲座。
1964年 甲辰 66岁 在中央美术学院受到诬陷
性的批判。
1966年 丙午 68岁 “******”始，以
“反动学术权威”等罪名
被批斗。
1972年 壬子 74岁 周总理指示为宾馆、使馆
作画。无偿作画三百余件。
1976年 丙辰 78岁 粉碎“四人帮”后，恢复
名誉与教授职务。
1977年 丁巳 79岁 为文化部中国画创作组
（中国画研究院之筹备机
构）无偿义务作画二百余
幅。当选为中国美术家协
会理事。
1978年 己未 81岁 为人民大会堂作巨画《松
鹰》和《盛夏图》（与李
燕合作）。
1980年 庚申 82岁 任全国政协委员。拍摄
《中国花鸟画》与《苦禅
画鹰》两部科教影片。为
人民大会堂绘制巨画《墨
竹图》。香港举办“李苦
禅、李燕父子书画展”，
并在港讲学。《李苦禅画
集》（上海人民美术出版
社）出版。
1981年 辛酉 83岁 任中国画研究院院务委员。
是年，完成花鸟画《盛夏
图》（四张丈二匹）。拍
摄教学片《苦禅写意》。
1982年 壬戌 84岁 去广东深圳、珠海、广州
和苏州等地参观游览作画。
1983年 癸亥 85岁 6 月11日，心脏病猝发逝
世。
1899 1 years old; born at Liqi village of
Gaotang County, Shangdong Province on
November 30; named Yingjie.
1919 21 years old; took Xu Beihong as his
teacher to study charcoal drawing in
the Research Institute of Amateur
Drawing Techniques(renamed as the
Institute of Plastic Arts).
1922 24 years old; entered the department
of the western drawings of Beijing
State-run Art College, where he
accepted the name "Kuchan" that his
classmates presented to him.
1923 25 years old;took Qi Baishi,a famous
painter, as his teacher and made a
humble living by renting and pulling
rickshaw at night.
1925 27 years old; graduated from Beijing
Art College and was employed as a
teacher of fine arts in Beijing Normal
School and Baoding No.2 Normal School.
1930 32 years old; served as a professor
of traditional Chinese paintings at
the Fine Arts College in Hangzhou.
1934 36 years old; went back to Beiping to
teach.
1937 39 years old; firmly gave up all
public employment when Beiping was
occupied by the Japanese Invader.
1939 41 years old; was arrested by the
Japanese military policeman, but never
gave in on the inquisition by torture;
refused to accept any puppet employment
offered by the Japanese Invader.
1946 48 years old; served as professor of
National Art College in Beiping.
1949 51 years old; appealed for a peace
liberation of Beiping together with
other scholars and artists.
1950 52 years old; the unfair treatment
made him jobless and had to write to
Chairman Mao Zedong for help, who
wrote to Xu Beihong to entrust him for
a solution and sent his secretary Tian
Jiaying to pay a visit to Li.
1951 53 years old; taught traditional
Chinese paintings at the Central
Academy of Fine Arts.
1961 63 years old; went to Qingdao, Jinan,
Yantai, Bengbu, and Hefei, etc., to
hold exhibitions and make academic
lectures.
1964 66 years old; was framed and
criticized at the Central Academy of
Fine Arts.
1966 68 years old; was criticized for the
fabricated guilt of " Reactionary
Academic Authority" as the turmoil of
"Cultural Revolution" began.
1972 74 years old; painted for hotels and
embassies under the instruction of
Premier Zhou Enlai.
1976 78 years old; his reputation and
position as a professor were resumed
after the Gang of Four were overthrown.
1977 79 years old; donated more than two
hundreds pieces of paintings of his
own to the traditional Chinese
paintings group of Culture Ministry;
he was appointed as a secretary of
China's Artists Society.
1979 81 years old; was invited to draw for
the Great Hall of People "Pinetree and
the Eagle", "Midsummer" (collaborated
with Li Yan).
1980 82 years old; became a member of All-
China Political Consultative Committee;
participated in the shooting of the
teaching films "Chinese Flower-and-
Bird Painting" and "Kuchan's drawing
of eagles"; was invited to draw the
" Bamboo in Ink " which was
unprecedented in size; was invited to
hold the Exhibition of Arts Jointly
with Li Yan and her Father, and made
lectures. The "Collection of Li
Kuchan's paintings" was published by
Shanghai People's Fine Arts Press.
1981 83 years old; acted as a member of
the Research Institute of Chinese
Paintings; finished painting
"Midsummer", a largest-sized flower-
and-bird painting in the history of
Chinese freehand brushwork; attended
the shooting of the teaching film
"Kuchan's freehand brushwork".
1982 84 years old; visited Shenzhen,
Zhuhai, Guangzhou and Shuzhou, and
painted in these places.
1983 85 years old; died of a heart attack
